Job Description

We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to support the operation, maintenance and reliability of the electrical systems across our data centre campus in Pasir Gudang, Johor.

The role will be responsible for ensuring that critical electrical infrastructure operates safely, reliably and efficiently to support continuous data centre operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the operation and maintenance of electrical systems across the data centre campus.

• Monitor the performance and condition of critical electrical equipment and systems.

• Manage and support critical electrical infrastructure, including high-voltage and low-voltage systems, transformers, switchgear, generators, UPS, batteries, power distribution and associated systems.

• Plan and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance activities.

• Troubleshoot electrical equipment and system issues and coordinate timely corrective actions.

• Monitor power quality, system performance and equipment condition to maintain high levels of reliability and availability.

• Work closely with operations, mechanical, engineering, project teams, contractors and equipment vendors.

• Support testing, commissioning and operational readiness of new electrical systems and equipment.

• Review electrical drawings, specifications, maintenance procedures, test reports and equipment documentation.

• Conduct root cause analysis for electrical failures and recommend corrective and preventive measures.

• Support initiatives to improve system reliability, energy efficiency and operational performance.

• Ensure electrical maintenance and operational activities comply with applicable statutory, safety and company requirements.

• Maintain accurate records of electrical equipment, maintenance activities, incidents and technical documentation.

• Participate in emergency response and provide technical support during critical electrical incidents when required.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.

• Minimum 3 years of relevant electrical engineering experience.

• Experience in a data centre, industrial facility, manufacturing plant, semiconductor, pharmaceutical or other critical facility environment will be an advantage.

• Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems, switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS, batteries and associated electrical infrastructure.

• Experience in preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and electrical equipment reliability.

• Good understanding of electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, technical specifications and maintenance procedures.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Good communication and coordination skills.

• Experience managing contractors and service providers is an advantage.

• Willing to work in a mission-critical environment and support emergency response requirements when necessary.
