Job Description

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to support the operation, maintenance and reliability of the mechanical systems across our data centre campus in Pasir Gudang, Johor.

The role will be responsible for ensuring that critical mechanical infrastructure operates safely, reliably and efficiently to support continuous data centre operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the operation and maintenance of mechanical systems across the data centre campus.

• Monitor the performance and condition of critical mechanical equipment and systems.

• Manage HVAC, chilled water, cooling systems, pumps, cooling towers and other associated mechanical infrastructure.

• Plan and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance activities.

• Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate timely corrective actions.

• Work closely with operations, electrical, engineering, project teams, contractors and equipment vendors.

• Support testing, commissioning and operational readiness of new mechanical systems.

• Review technical drawings, specifications, maintenance procedures and equipment documentation.

• Conduct root cause analysis for equipment failures and recommend improvement measures.

• Support initiatives to improve system reliability, energy efficiency and operational performance.

• Ensure maintenance activities comply with safety, statutory and company requirements.

• Maintain accurate records of equipment, maintenance activities, incidents and technical documentation.

• Participate in emergency response and provide technical support during critical equipment incidents when required.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.

• Minimum 3 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience.

• Experience in a data centre, industrial facility, manufacturing plant, semiconductor, pharmaceutical or other critical facility environment will be an advantage.

• Strong knowledge of HVAC, chilled water systems, cooling systems, pumps and mechanical equipment.

• Experience in preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and equipment reliability.

• Good understanding of engineering drawings, technical specifications and maintenance procedures.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Good communication and coordination skills.

• Experience managing contractors and service providers is an advantage.

• Willing to work in a mission-critical environment and support emergency response requirements when necessary.
