Role Purpose

The Data Centre Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of data center facilities, ensuring high availability, reliability, and operational efficiency across all critical systems. This role involves managing teams, optimizing operational processes, maintaining compliance with industry standards, and delivering a world-class customer experience.

The Data Centre Manager collaborates closely with engineering, facilities, security, and project management teams to ensure seamless operations and supports strategic initiatives for growth and capacity planning.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of data centre facilities, including monitoring MEP systems (UPS, generators, chillers, CRAC/CRAH units), security systems, and building management systems

  • Effectively manage and lead a team of Engineer and technician to timely implement and deliver DC services to customers.

  • Implement and maintain operational procedures, SOPs, and best practices for mission-critical environments.

  • Monitor and optimise operational efficiency and resource utilisation.

  • Maintain strict operational procedures (SOPs, MOPs, EOPs) for safe and consistent operations.

  • Conduct regular audits, risk assessments, and capacity reviews for power, cooling, and space.

  • Lead incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for any facility-related issues.

  • Escalate and communicate incidents in accordance with internal processes.

  • Implement corrective actions and preventive strategies to reduce operational risks.

  • Oversee vendor performance, service contracts, and third-party maintenance activities.

  • Ensure safe work practices, method statements, and permitting processes are adhered to at all times.

  • Manage procurement of parts, spares, tools, and consumables.

  • Work closely with engineering, design, and construction teams on new builds or retrofits.

  • Lead, train, and supervise facilities technicians and shift teams.

  • Build a culture focused on safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

 

Requirements

  • Master / Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Facilities Management, Engineering, or equivalent.

  • At least 10 years of experience in facilities management, preferably in data centres, or mission-critical environments.

  • Strong technical knowledge of MEP and critical infrastructure systems.

  • Experience with BMS/EPMS systems and reading technical drawings.

  • Proven ability to lead teams and manage vendors effectively.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to respond quickly in high-pressure situations.

  • Knowledge of safety regulations and industry standards

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to operational excellence.

  • Customer-oriented mindset with strong communication and reporting skills
