Purpose
The Building & Facilities Lead is responsible for the overall management, maintenance, and operational readiness of the data center building infrastructure. This includes all non-IT facilities systems such as civil structures, building services, utilities, safety systems, and site support services. The role ensures a safe, compliant, and highly available environment to support 24/7 critical IT operations.
Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day operations of building facilities including civil, structural, and site infrastructure systems.
Manage soft and hard facilities services such as housekeeping, security, waste management, and pest control.
Ensure proper functioning and maintenance of building support systems including lighting, plumbing, water supply, drainage, and lift systems (if applicable).
Coordinate with MEP teams to ensure seamless integration of building services with critical infrastructure systems.
Ensure compliance with local building codes, health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Manage preventive and corrective maintenance programs for all non-critical facility assets.
Oversee vendor and contractor performance, ensuring SLA compliance and quality of service delivery.
Support emergency response planning, drills, and incident management for building-related risks (fire, flooding, structural issues).
Track facility performance metrics, maintenance costs, and lifecycle asset planning.
Support site expansion, renovations, fit-outs, and construction-related activities.
Drive sustainability initiatives including water conservation, waste reduction, and green building practices.
Ensure site readiness, cleanliness, and operational standards to support uninterrupted data center operations.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Facilities Management, or equivalent.
At least 7–15 years of experience in facilities or building management, with experience in data centers, industrial plants, or mission-critical environments preferred.
Strong understanding of building systems including civil works, utilities, and site infrastructure.
Knowledge of HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) standards and regulatory compliance.
Experience managing vendors, contracts, and service level agreements (SLAs).
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work in high-pressure, 24/7 operational environments.
